Mary Martin

Mary Dolores Martin was born on October 11, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Elizabeth Johnson. Mary was raised in Chicago and completed her education at Saint John the Baptist School before graduating from Visitation High School in 1957. In 1961, Mary graduated from Rosary College with Baccalaureates in English and Mathematics. She met her husband Don in 1962 at Oklahoma State University while pursuing a Masters degree in Mathematics. As a homemaker, Mary was a generous, compassionate, and supportive mother offering wisdom and love to three generations of children. She was an avid collector of beautiful antiques and collectible items and enjoyed decorating her home for holidays. Mary, a devoted wife of Don Martin for 62 years, was also a beloved mother of five, Burt (Allyson) Martin, Sharon (Cooper) Monroe, Don Alan (Laura) Martin, Elizabeth (Matt) Sullivan, and Mary Jo (Gerardo) Sosa Valerdi. She is the grandmother of eight; Blake (Eden) Monroe, Denise (JT) Harper, Madeline (Dan) Sazer, Spencer McArthur, Emily Monroe, and Sean, Ryan, and Conor Martin. She is great grandmother of six; Caden, Hudson, and Barrett Harper, Rosemary and Violet Sazer, and Alice Monroe. Mary is survived by the aforementioned family members, along with a sister, Jo Johnson, and two brothers, Edward and Tommy Johnson.
