MaryEtta Saffell, age 80, of Avella, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 3rd, 2026.

She was born on September 21st, 1946 in Washington, Pennsylvania, to parents James Medlen and Mary (Moore) Medlen.

She married Dennis Wayne Saffell and together they shared many wonderful years together traveling and raising four wonderful children.

MaryEtta enjoyed concerts, traveling, spending time with family and was widely known for her love of music, especially Elvis and Peter Noone.

MaryEtta is survived by her siblings, Alberta Medlen (Roy Jackson), Nancy Medlen (Donald Carpenter), David Medlen (Lorraine); her children, Dennis Saffell (Stacy Bacque), Jeremy Saffell (Toni Bacque), Denise Saffell (James Lawrence), Jerad Saffell (Kim Bridges); her grandchildren, Shaylynn Ingersoll (Drew Ely), Dylan Saffell, Justin Saffell (Hannah Meeks), Janae Lawrence (Domenica Plants), Ashley Saffell (Taylor), Jerad Saffell (Kierra Daugherty), Shayna Saffell, Blake Saffell; her great grandchildren, Logan and Aralynn, Holly, Dylan, Kalen, Silas and Nyla, Briella; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother (Mary Moore Medlen); father (James Walter Medlen); step-mother (Mary Scafraniec Domladovac Medlen); step-father (Albert David Medlen); her brother (James "Uncle Jim" Medlen); her sisters (Donna Jean Medlen Weaver (Penne) and Tammy Lynn Medlen); her husband (Dennis Wayne Saffell) and other family members.

A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the sudden nature of her passing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her children.
