Lived in Graet Bend, KS

Let the memory of Rita be with us forever.

Rita Lynn was born 11-18-61 to Lynda Weber and the oldest of 4 children. Lynda later married Tom Weber who would adopt her and her siblings. Rita is most well known for her stubbornness and strong will. There was NOTHING she couldn’t accomplish when she put her mind to it. Rita called “home” Wichita Falls Tx. Where she spent much time f her childhood. However she was “an Air-force brat” which led her to living in Italy and Germany. Shortly after turning 18 she gave birth to her Eldest of 3 children David Ray April 27th 1980. Shortly after the “little ones” would arrive as Irish twins (which she always said was harder than having twins). Christopher Lee was born September 9th 1982. Her youngest and only baby girl was born July 5th 1983 (9 months 26 days later). She was a mama bear and moved heaven and earth for her children. She was a very protective, attentive and loving mom. In 1989 Rita and her 3 children moved from Wichita Falls Tx. To Great Bend Ks where she would end up making this her “new home” spending the rest of her life here. She soon met and fell in love with her soulmate Bradley Ray Scheideman. Brad not only accepted Rita but also the duty of helping to raise their 3 children. Brad adopted all 3 children in 1992 and raised them as his own. Brad and Rita were united in Marriage on 10-3-93. After coming to Great Bend Rita worked whatever jobs she could to support her 3 kids. She started college and earned her RN in 1992. She was a very successful and proud nurse for 30 years spending much of that time in various geriatric settings and being DON multiple places. She also taught many others in her nursing career. Later in life Rita was more than happy to gain additional children as her children married. She loved and accepted Amber Scheideman and Grant Unruh as her own. Besides being a mom (which was her greatest achievement) she was blessed with 6 grandchildren. She was then referred to as Nana which was probably her favorite title of all. Emily Scheideman, Hailey Peterson, Aaron Scheideman, Kendra Scheideman, Gage Peterson and jitterbug Kaylee Scheideman. She had so many talents in her lifetime. She loved making stockings, tree skirts and ornaments for all of her family. She enjoyed painting (and became fantastic at it). She enjoyed making quilts for her entire family. She also wrote a book about our heritage. Everything she did she became great at.
