Obituary

Rosemary Christine York-Armstrong lived for one hundred and one years, a life long enough to witness an extraordinary sweep of history and to leave a deep mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her passed on August 11, 2026.

Born in 1925, Homestead PA, Clariton, High School 1942, Robert Morris College 1944, Pittsburgh School Of Modeling, Employment Office Manager, Gimble Chevrolet 1944, Met her husband James (Jim) Armstrong 1945, Married September 18, 1948, 1952 had their first born son, Keith, Moved to Syracuse, New York in 1954, 1963 Adopted an infant second son, Mark. Formerly a member of the Corinthian Club Syracuse, Stage Guild, and Syracuse Symphony Association. Tap dancing was her passion, not only did she enjoy performing, but indulged in teaching as well. She enjoyed antiquing and had a small private antique business for fun. Enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Her years spent on the St. Lawrence in the Thousand Islands at her cottage was one of her most cherished memories. Predeceased, her biggest heartache was losing her husband Jim after 56 years of marriage in 2004 and Brothers, Kenneth York, Raymond York. Surviving family; Son and daughter-in-law Keith and Debra Armstrong their six sons, Brett, Chad, Jamie, Ross Armstrong, Donald and Adam Piron. Son and daughter-in-law Mark and Christine Armstrong, and their three children, Brandon, Ashleigh, and Aryanna. Several great grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews. Rosemary lived in her Dewitt home for 50 years right up till the end with some assistance from her caring helpers, Donna, Kerry and Michelle.
