Scott Messler

Scott David Messler, 46 of West Union, Iowa passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Scott was born October 9, 1978 to Arthur and Jacqueline (Echard) Messler in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

Scott was employed by R & R Trucking in Elgin, Iowa. Outside of work, Scott lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed golfing, drawing, exploring new places while traveling, cruising down the open road on his motorcycle, and watching sports. A lifelong football fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on the Denver Broncos or the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Scott had a special talent for grilling and loved to share his meals with family and friends. Scott’s greatest joy in life was his family-especially his seven sons, who were his pride and purpose. Scott’s life was a reminder to live boldly, love deeply, and always make time for the people and passions that bring joy. His family and friends will miss him dearly but will carry forward his spirit of warmth, humor, and devotion.

Surviving Scott are his sons, Schuyler (Sawyer) Messler, Bryce Messler, Jordan Messler, Tayton Messler, Chase Messler, Andyn Messler and Baylen Messler; granddaughter, Rylie Messler; parents, Arthur and Jacqueline Messler; sisters, Anne (Mauro) Salpor and Vicki (Don) Davis; nieces and nephews, Jessica Salpor, Isaac Salpor, Jada Brooks, and Justin Goodwin; ex-wife, Heather Barton; stepchildren, Breanna Rear and Brandon Barton; girlfriend, Amanda Vick. Scott was preceded in death by one brother, Aaron Messler.
