Solomon Scekeres

Born Dec. 7, 1982, in Latrobe, he was the son of Alice Scekeres, of Pleasant Unity, and the late John 'Jack' Scekeres. Sol was a 2001 graduate of Greater Latrobe Senior High School. For 17 years, he had been employed by the Westmoreland County Housing Authority. A self-proclaimed 'bar athlete,' Sol excelled at shuffleboard, pool leagues, and dart leagues. He also enjoyed playing in his bowling league at Hillview Bowling Lanes and was proud to be the champion of his fantasy football leagues. Sol loved antiques and going to local auctions. An avid outdoorsman, he loved golfing and often spent leisure time foraging for mushrooms. Above all, the greatest joy of Sol's life was being a father.
