Let the memory of Vince be with us forever.
Vicente "Vince, Vinny," Licon was born in San Jose, California, on February 10, 1977, to Rachel and Vincent Licon. A man defined by his devotion to family and his tireless work ethic, Vince passed away leaving a legacy of kindness and laughter.
Vince grew up in San Jose, CA with his mother Rachel and sister Veronica, brother Philip, his father Vince Sr. and many other family members. He loved to fish at Hellyer Park, watching TV, and playing with his sister, brother, cousins and friends. Vince attended elementary school, Junior High and finally High School in San Jose. He was an Andrew P Hill Falcon and proud of it. Vince made many good friends in High School, how could you not like him. The nicest guy. Some highlights from that time was he played the tin man in a school skit, played a little football and was voted Homecoming King his Sr. Year Class of 1995
In March 1995, Vince met the love of his life, Delia at Great America where he worked at the time. They were inseparable. They would take road trips to Las Vegas with family and friends, Los Angeles, Disneyland, and Magic Mountain. Vince and Delia purchased their first home in 1998 a proud moment. They were married on April 21, 2001, continuing a beautiful life together. One of his proudest moments came on April 14, 2006, when they welcomed their daughter, Isabella, into the world. Vince was her biggest fan. Made sure he was 100% involved in everything she did or wanted to do. He never missed a chance to cheer her on whether it was ballet/tap class, swimming classes, softball, water polo and especially cheering for her on the sidelines of her soccer games. He would yell " Lets go 9". She knew it was him.
Known for his infectious smile and a sense of humor flavored with just the right amount of sarcasm, Vince left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a man of many passions, from fishing and camping to proudly driving and showcasing his 1964 Buick Riviera at local car shows. He enjoyed bike rides with his (Biker Boyz)crew. He loved to play pool, miniature golf (never let us win) and Golf. He spent over 20 years with Aramark Uniform Services and nearly seven years with BART, proving his dedication in everything he touched. Above all, he cherished the simple moments: overnight trips to Reno, binge-watching shows with Delia, watching Isabella play soccer and being surrounded by those he loved.
Vince is survived by his wife, Delia; daughter, Isabella; mother, Rachel Welch and stepfather, Tom Welch; siblings, Veronica Licon, Phillip (Marisa)Licon; his in-laws, Roberta Torres, Hector Vargas, Hector (Sandra) Vargas, Robert (Tiffany) Vargas, and Patrick (Stacey) Vargas; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his father Vincent Licon.
Vince will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his smile, his kindness and his unwavering love for his family. Gone too soon.
