Effie was born and raised in New York before starting her family in Connecticut. She was a proud mother of two, her son and daughter. She later moved to New Jersey raising her granddaughter. She worked as a secretary for Milu Bus and later worked as a secretary for Revenue Guard before retiring. She was a beautiful singer and dancer, Greek dancing was her favorite. Her greatest pride was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook for visits with family. Her pasticio was legendary. She made everyone feel welcome with her witty spirit and generosity. She was a friend to everyone.

Grandma, I’ll never be able to describe in words how deeply I miss you. I thank god everyday that I was blessed to be your granddaughter. You will always be my heart and soul. I thank you for everything you did for me. You guided me, taught me to be tough, protected me. Most of all you loved me endlessly. I miss you terribly but I carry your love everywhere I go. Kaiden will forever know her YiaYia loved her too the moon and back.
