In the beginning I had you, for a moment My first Breath You held me Named me Loved me And then I lost you History, sadness, anger, illness They took you away I didn’t have you then Glimpses of who you could be Always a hug and kiss goodnight Holding your hand in scary moments Piggy backs when I couldn’t walk Glimpses, but I didn’t have you History, anger, sadness, resentment They took me away You didn’t have me then Attempts to be who we could be Phone calls home Drop buy visits You rushing to me when the weight of the world felt crushing Attempts, but you still didn’t have me Pain separated us in the beginning but love brought us back together Pain separated us for years, and then love brought us back together And then without realizing I had you For a moment You became the mom you and I both knew you could be History, still there Anger and sadness, lifting Resentment dissolving Unconditional love in abundance Nurturing, Laughter, and understanding brought us back together And For a moment, we had each other Then suddenly pain separated us And just like that I lost you again But just like all the times before one day love will bring us together again.
Let the memory of Linda be with us forever.
Linda was the first born of Lillie Mae and Matthew. She had 3 younger sisters and a younger brother. Her father was her hero as a small child, but he passed when she was only 7. She loved her mother and had many happy memories. She was always willing to tell stories about her life growing up. She grew up in the Brodheadsville/Effort area and later in Bangor, PA. She did not have a good relationship with her step-father, and at 16 moved in with her paternal aunt, Gladys. Aunt Gladys once told her, “Linda, when you first came here you were like a piece of coal, but turns out you were a diamond in the rough and now look how you shine.” Her Aunt Gladys, Aunt Hazi, and Aunt Phyllis played huge rolls in her life and helped her through many challenging times. She graduated from Pen Argyl High School in 1972. Later that same year while babysitting she saw a photo of Tim, and Tim’s sister set them up on a date. By June 1973 they were married, and in February 1974 welcomed their first child, Tim Jr. Tim and Linda had four more children, all girls, Kristi, Julie, Abby, and Missy. They would go on to have 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren before Linda’s passing. She loved spending time with her family including her sisters, Bonnie, Ellie, and Bobbie. She was quick with a joke, and could also take a good roasting whenever all of her children were around. She loved the theater and always wanted her name in lights. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, and taking a long drive to reminisce about her life and family on the Weir Mountain. She was always up for a good cup of coffee, and while she wasn’t the best cook she could make a good soup. She enjoyed spending time with animals. She was a little OCD, but also scattered at times. She loved to watch football with Tim, and kept the tradition of cheering on the Eagles no matter what after Tim’s passing. She desperately missed him, and while she told us she would live to be 100, she missed Tim too much and had to leave early.
