Tributes
You have been gone almost a year and I honestly miss you more each passing day. So do Sherry and Blake. You were an awesome brother and uncle. Can't wait to hug you and Dad in heaven. Love ya, bro.
Scott. Brother ,We miss your smile and sense of humor.
My husband, Scott Gibson, of nearly 25 years went to his heavenly home on Sunday afternoon. He was my partner, the love of my life, my center, my spiritual guide, my voice of reason, my best friend, and father of our 4 beautiful children on Earth and 4 heavenly children. He died from injuries from a snowmobile accident while we were on a trip in Colorado. We had gone to Mass that morning and received Jesus. He died full of joy and peace. He did not suffer. Our friend and I were with him the entire time and prayed the rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet with him. He lived his life with no regrets. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Our children and I were the most important people in this world. He loved all his family so much- his parents, his brother, sister in law, nephews, and niece, cousins, in laws, brother in law, sister in law, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and so much more. He had the most wonderful friends and community. He dedicated his life to serving others. He was an educator for 27 years! He started his career as a high school history and geography teacher and basketball and baseball coach at Ryan High School. He enjoyed those years and had so many amazing mentors. He taught World Geography at Northwest High School while working on his master’s degree in Education Administration. He came to Argyle Middle School in 2006 as the assistant principal and has been the principal at Argyle Middle School since 2009. He absolutely loved his teachers, staff, and students. He put his heart and soul into mentoring his teachers and guiding his students. Being visible and available to his teacher, staff, students, and students’ parents were important to him. He was a man of incredible integrity and humility. His volunteered as a catechist teaching elementary religious education at our church, Boy Scout leader, and coached youth sports team (currently assistant basketball coach of our daughter’s team). He exuded joy and made all around him feel important and loved. He never met a stranger even though he called himself an outgoing introvert. He was amazing at making connections when he met new people. He loved nature, camping, hiking, the beach, and visiting the National Parks. He was an avid sports fan. I mean die hard Cowboys and Mavericks fan through the good times and the bad. Our 2nd date was to Mavericks in 1995 when they were terrible. He loved movies and 80s music and was a Star Wars fan. He was the knower of random facts, followed current events, and politics and make sure I was informed and understood the history and importance of what was going on. He was a difference maker and impacted thousands of lives. Please allow his legacy to live on by doing what you love with integrity and humility and putting God at the center of your life. He will be missed and through the grace of God we will continue on living our lives to the fullest. Pray for his soul and pray for our precious children and myself. We will need our community to carry us through this.
