Choose Memorygram when the goal is a printed memoir with guided conversations built into the purchase. Storii is a phone recording service with digital exports; its gift box is an activation package, not an included finished hardcover. That distinction matters more than the headline gift price.

Storii’s gift package contains a service activation code and instructions. The reviewed offer is $59.99, discounted from $119.99, for 12 months. Its lower price does not represent the same deliverable as Memorygram’s printed Legacy Book. Prices are in US dollars and were reviewed September 5, 2026.

A timed answer is different from a conversation.
Storii’s published call script reads a question and asks the storyteller to record an answer after a beep. Its FAQ specifies a 15-minute recording allowance. The gift page’s older 10-minute description conflicts with that figure, so confirm the active limit before buying.
Memorygram’s interviewer responds with follow-up questions. That is useful when someone remembers a scene but needs help exploring it. Ask the storyteller to describe a favorite childhood place; listen for whether they naturally elaborate or need another prompt. Choose the recording method around that behavior.

Do not leave the physical keepsake as an unfinished task.
A folder of recordings can be valuable, but it is a different outcome from a book ready to give to a grandchild. With Memorygram, the interviews, narrative, photographs, and full-color hardcover belong to the same book project. A family member should still review the draft before printing.
Storii allows exporting and printing answers. We are not claiming its stories cannot become a physical book. We are comparing a gift offer that lists digital output with a package that explicitly includes the finished hardcover.

Paying for more calls is different from paying to keep old audio.
Storii says existing stories remain accessible and exportable after cancellation. Continuing phone calls requires an active subscription. The criticism is the ongoing cost of recording, not an invented claim that the family loses its recordings.
For a US family buying a memoir as a gift, we prefer Memorygram’s included book and absence of recurring subscription billing. Its year of questions is a defined project, not a promise of unlimited new interviews indefinitely.

Yes. Both services support landline storytelling. Memorygram’s included phone feature is limited to US phone numbers.
Does the Storii Gift Box contain a finished life-story book?
The reviewed product lists an activation code and instructions, with audiobook and transcript exports. It does not list a finished hardcover as included.
